Hosting A Concert Outdoors

You might have seen people hosting concerts in the summer outdoors and wondered if one day you could do it yourself. And the truth is that you absolutely can. Hosting a fun concert for your friends and the local community can be a really wonderful experience to do. You will bring everyone together, let local bands perform and make a big event out of it all. Here are the things you will want to think about when you are hosting a concert outdoors.

The venue

The first thing you will want to think about when hosting a concert is where it will be. Choosing a venue for a concert or festival will take a lot of work because you will need to visit possible places, check how close houses are, contact the council and ask for permission and hope that they allow you to proceed. Once you have found a great venue for your concert, the rest can fall into place.

The weather

The weather for an outdoor concert is always going to be a big issue, the last thing you want to happen is for it to pour it down with rain and for everyone to want to go home. Think about having ponchos on hand which people can buy and also think about having a place with some cover such as a tent where people can escape to if the rains hits hard. The weather shouldn’t spoil the atmosphere of your event so play to it instead.

When you run a concert outdoors you will need a stage, lights, load banks, sound equipment and other things which can cost a lot of money to hire or to buy. Make sure you ship around as much as you can to find the best possible deal for your items. You will need to think about where you will store the equipment and how long you want to hire it for.

Food is a huge part of any event, and it will make or break the happy atmosphere for concert goers everywhere. One of the things you can think about doing when you choose your food options is to allow people to bring their own foods with them. Allow your guests to bring picnics with them as long as they take the rubbish home or throw it in the bins provided. You can also have a burger van on site for those who haven’t brought food, and an ice cream van in the hopes of a hot and sunny day! You could even hire a mobile bar to come and serve cocktails to people as they come to sit down!

Toilets are something you will always have to consider when hosting an event like this. To ensure that your guests are happy when they come to your concert, make sure you bring some portable toilets with you to the event. Ideally you will be able to get the up market toilets rather than portaloos because these are a nightmare for everyone who enters.
